The Everest View Yoga Trek combines mountain trekking with daily yoga and relaxation sessions in Nepal’s Everest region. It’s for travelers who prefer a well-rounded daily schedule in the Khumbu landscape. It starts in Kathmandu, then you will be flown to Lukla and trek through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, and Tengboche.
The journey culminates in Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft), with an acclimatization day. On this day, you will enjoy a morning yoga class and a brief hike to the Everest View Hotel area, where you will be at about 3,880 m / 12,730 ft. This will help you adjust to the higher elevation before you head further up the trail.
You will also arrive at Tengboche (3,860 m / 12,664 ft). You will pass through forests, be on suspension bridges, and pass through traditional Sherpa settlements along the way. As you ascend to Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kwangde, the landscape shifts.
The Everest Yoga Trek includes morning yoga on scheduled days, breakfast, and the day’s trek. You can rest and relax at each overnight destination. This setup contrasts with a typical trek route, which usually emphasizes walking and visiting sites.
The return flight follows the route back to Lukla, through Monjo and the other villages, before returning to Kathmandu. Once in the capital, visit Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. These visits offer a chance to experience some of the Kathmandu Valley’s cultural and religious sites.
The route is not technical, but it is a multi-hour walk along often uneven mountain tracks. Prepare well, take it slow, and pay attention to the altitude. The Everest View Yoga Trek combines trekking, yoga, cultural visits, and relaxation, making it an active trip that supports relaxation through yoga practice.
My Everest Trip provides trekking services, accommodation, package arrangements, and transportation based on your chosen trip, helping travelers with the practical details.
Why This Trip Is Special?
The Everest View Yoga Trek combines regular yoga sessions with mountain trekking, so you can experience the Khumbu region while still having time for yoga and gentle movement. Yoga classes are offered in the mornings on scheduled hiking days to help you start calmly.
The itinerary includes a dedicated acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft), followed by a trek to the Everest View Hotel area (3,880 m / 12,730 ft). This lets you enjoy the higher mountain environment without rushing through all the activities.
The Everest Yoga Trek is not just a walking holiday; it also includes rest breaks. You will also visit Tengboche, pass through Sherpa villages and forests, and have an interesting tour of Kathmandu’s cultural sites.
This trek is ideal for anyone seeking an active, well-rounded day-to-day experience in the Himalayas, thanks to its blend of trekking, yoga, acclimatization, and cultural sightseeing.

Duilgheadas Treòrachaidh
Everest View Yoga Trek is not a technical climb, but a moderate hike up the mountain. There are some uphill and downhill tracks, suspension bridges, stone steps, and rocky tracks on the mountain. The walk gets more challenging as you approach the highest point, Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft).
Distance is not the issue; it’s the altitude. Slowly increasing walking time and getting extra rest are key. An acclimatization day at Namche is included, giving visitors the chance to acclimatize before moving on to Tengboche (3,860 m / 12 664 ft).
| Factor | Na tha ri shùileachadh | Riatanas Fallaineachd |

| Yoga | Morning sessions during trekking days | Basic flexibility is helpful but advanced yoga is unnecessary |
| Latha fois | Gnàthachadh aig Namche | Light activity recommended |
| sreap teicnigeach | Chan eil gin | No climbing experience required |
Riatanasan Fallaineachd
Legs and lungs can be prepared for departure by regular walking, stair climbing, and moderate cardiovascular exercise.
Flexibility exercises can also help, since there is a lot of repetitive uphill/downhill running.
The Everest Yoga Trek is more comfortable when you maintain a steady pace rather than trying to walk quickly.
Normal Everest View Trek vs Everest View Yoga Trek
It’s the same route on top, but a different route each day. A typical Everest View Trek involves walking, observing the landscape, and acclimating. In the yoga version, a series of wellness activities are planned into the trekking schedule.
Everest View Yoga Trek offers yoga classes at the start of several days of the trip, along with breakfast and trekking. The itinerary also includes evening relaxation. This establishes a daily schedule that involves exercise and rest.
| feart | Normal Everest View Trek | Cuairt Ioga Sealladh Everest |
| Prìomh adhbhar | Trekking and mountain sightseeing | Trekking combined with yoga and relaxation |
| Riaghailt na maidne | Breakfast and preparation | Morning yoga followed by breakfast |
| Trekking | Main daily activity | Main daily activity |
| Seiseanan yoga | Mar as trice chan eil e air a ghabhail a-steach | Included according to itinerary |
| Cleachdadh feasgair | Rest at lodge | Relaxation period |
| Acclimatization | Included where planned | Included with yoga and relaxation |
| pace | Depends on group itinerary | Designed around trekking and wellness sessions |
| Fòcas air sunnd | Earranta | Regular yoga and relaxation |
| Freagarrach airson | Trekkers focused mainly on walking | Travelers wanting trekking with a wellness routine |
Neither alters the mountain environment in any way. The difference is the daily plan. Those opting for the yoga experience should be prepared for the same altitude, trail surfaces, and walking involved.
Yoga, Meditation and Daily Wellness Routine
Yoga is not a retreat program, but a part of the day-to-day routine. Morning sessions will be held before breakfast on trek days. The sessions are scheduled to allow gentle exercise before the day’s walk.
Evening relaxation after the trek is also a part of the Everest Yoga Trek. The location can vary depending on the lodge and available space, so travelers should not expect a dedicated yoga space in every mountain village.
| Pàirt den latha | Gnìomhachd Phlanaichte | adhbhar |
| Madainn | Seisean yoga | Gentle movement and preparation |
| After yoga | Breacadh | Prepare for trekking |
| Latha-latha | Trekking | Travel between mountain settlements |
| Bàtaichaichean | Lodge check-in and rest | Recovery after walking |
| Feasgar | Fàilteachadh | Quiet recovery before the next day |
| Latha gnàthachaidh | Yoga and light hiking | Support gradual adjustment to altitude |
Yoga should not be uncomfortable at greater heights. It’s best to do gentle stretching rather than poses or hard workouts. The aim is to promote mobility and relaxation, not limits.
Therefore, the Everest View Yoga Trek is ideal for yoga enthusiasts with no advanced yoga experience. My Everest Trip can arrange the above mentioned activities and support during the package.
Altitude and Acclimatization in the Everest Region
Altitude is a key factor in the Everest View Yoga Trek. The route starts at Kathmandu (1,320 m / 4,331 ft), ascends to Lukla (2,860 m / 9,383 ft), and then heads up to Namche and Tengboche. The maximum elevation of the tour is the area of the Everest View Hotel at around 3,880 m / 12,730 ft.
| Àite | Àirde tuairmseach | Role in the Itinerary |
| Kathmandu | (1,320 m / 4,331 troigh) | Ruigheachd agus falbh |
| Lukla | (2,860 m / 9,383 troigh) | Àite tòiseachaidh an turas-coiseachd |
| Phakding | (2,640 m / 8,661 troigh) | A’ chiad turas coiseachd thar oidhche |
| Namche Bazaar | (3,440 m / 11,286 troigh) | Main acclimatization location |
| Sgìre Taigh-òsta Everest View | (3,880 m / 12,730 troigh) | Cuairt-choiseachd gnàth-chleachdaidh |
| Tengboche | (3,860 m / 12,664 troigh) | Highest overnight point |
Acclimatize to the high altitude on the planned day at Namche. Take it easy, drink plenty of liquids, and inform your guide if you get symptoms like headache, unusual tiredness, dizziness, or nausea. If symptoms worsen or become severe, avoid further climbing until an expert examines you.
Lukla Flight Information and Weather Delays
The Everest View Yoga Trek starts and ends with flights from Kathmandu to the Khumbu region, so flights to Lukla are a key part of the trek. The flight is brief, but mountain weather can affect timing.
In high-tourist seasons, flights to Lukla may depart from and return to Ramechhap Airport instead of Kathmandu. Ramechhap Airport is also called Manthali Airport and is a key departure point for flights to Lukla during high season.
| bhuil | What Travelers Should Know |
| Fad an itealaich | Usually around 30 to 35 minutes |
| Prìomh cheann-uidhe | Kathmandu or Ramechhap to Lukla |
| Tuairmse na h- | Cloud, wind and visibility can affect operations. |

| sùbailteachd | Keep some schedule flexibility around flight days. |

Lukla weather can be unpredictable and may affect flight operations, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.
My Everest Trip can arrange the flight arrangements included in the package, but the itinerary is subject to the operating schedule and the circumstances on the travel date.
Accommodation on the Everest View Yoga Trek
Yoga Trekking to Everest is a Yoga Tour Package that offers accommodation in Kathmandu and local lodges during the trek. The lodges are for trekkers and offer campsite-style amenities for resting, eating, and sleeping after a day on the trail.
Rooms are generally simple and can have twin beds. Private or shared bathrooms can be available, depending on the lodge. The buildings get simpler the farther you go toward the mountains.
| Àite | Àite-fuirich | Goireasan àbhaisteach |
| Kathmandu | Taigh-òsta | Private room, bathroom, electricity and standard hotel facilities |
| Phakding | Trekking lodge | Basic room, dining area and shared or private bathroom depending on lodge |

| Tengboche | Trekking lodge | Basic rooms, dining area and limited facilities |
| Monjo | Trekking lodge | Basic rooms and dining facilities |
| Lukla | Trekking lodge | Basic rooms, dining area and access to electricity |
In most cases, heating is provided only in the communal dining area, not in single rooms or single-bedroom rooms. Charging and hot showers may incur additional charges at higher elevations.
Accommodation standards are not as high as in city hotels, so visitors should not expect luxury, but rather practical mountain lodging.
Food, Drinking Water and Meals During the Trek
A proper diet is crucial to keeping you energized on the Everest View Yoga Trek. Rice, noodles, soup, potatoes, vegetables, eggs, pasta and bread are typical items served at trekking lodges. Dal bhat is also widely available along the route.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner should provide enough energy for regular walking. Tea and coffee are readily available, but availability and cost may depend on lodge stock.
Don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink water. Unless filtered and/or treated, trekkers should not drink water from the streams.
Ceadan agus Riatanasan Inntrigidh
The Everest View Yoga Trek passes through Sagarmatha National Park and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality. So, national park and local entry requirements are both applicable.
| riatanas | Ùghdarras Cur a-mach | adhbhar |
| Cead Inntrigidh Pàirc Nàiseanta Sagarmatha | National park authority | Entry into the protected area |

| Seall | Government of Nepal | Inntrigeadh laghail a-steach do Neapàl |
Note that the Khumbu local tourism fee is not a restricted area trekking permit for this route. Not an area of restricted trekking.
For those states where the trip includes permits and local entry, My Everest Trip will obtain these as part of the package. During the trek, travelers must still carry their passports with all passport details.
Packing List and Yoga Equipment
When packing for the Everest View Yoga Trek, it’s crucial to balance out the gear you need for trekking with the attire that is comfortable for yoga practice. You don’t need mountaineering gear, as this journey is a trekking route, not a technical climbing route.
Weather is extremely variable, and warm layers and waterproofs are essential even in the warmer trekking seasons.

Lìonra Fòn-làimhe, Eadar-lìon agus Goireasan Cosgais
Mobile connectivity coverage on the trail is incomplete; however, it is possible in parts of the Everest region. Depending on location, the strength of the signal may vary as a function of weather and surrounding terrain.
According to Nepal Telecom, its 4G service is available in all 77 districts, but coverage may not be available for certain locations on the mountain. In larger villages (such as Namche), connectivity is generally easier than it is in smaller villages in the Everest region.

Health, Safety and Travel Insurance
Everest View Yoga Trek is done at medium to high altitude, so you need to prepare your health seriously. The route will challenge you physically, but a steady walking pace, enough water, and rest will help you cope.
Before traveling, talk to a qualified medical practitioner about any medical issues you may have. Your travel insurance should cover trekking at the highest altitude in your itinerary and include emergency medical treatment and evacuation, if available.
Important Safety Practices
- Don’t rush; walk at your own pace.
- Deoch uisge gu cunbhalach
- Get proper rest and sleep.
- Let your guide know of any unusual symptoms.
- Don’t store important medicines out of reach.
- Listen to the weather forecast and follow the instructions
- Bring travel insurance papers
- Do not go any higher if severe symptoms of altitude occur.
In addition, weather can impact flights to Lukla, so it’s important to have a bit of flexibility with regard to the flight days. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) identifies rapidly changing mountain weather as an operational factor in the area of Lukla.
Other Treks in the Everest Region
Routes in the Everest region offer both shorter hikes with viewpoints and longer, high-altitude treks. The Everest View Yoga Trek is a suitable option for those who cannot make it to Everest Base Camp.

Everest is a prominent trekking area and has many trekking routes and trekking peaks in this area.
If you prefer yoga and a shorter trek up the Khumbu, the Everest Yoga trek too offers a different day-to-day plan of the day as compared to the longer high-altitude treks.
Money, ATMs and Payment Facilities
The principal currency in Nepal is the Nepali Rupee (NR), used throughout the Everest View Yoga Trek. Kathmandu has numerous banks, ATMs, and currency exchange services, but it gets harder to predict availability in the mountains.
While Namche Bazaar has banking and ATM services, they are not as extensive as those in larger settlements, and travelers should not rely solely on electronic payments. ATM availability, cash withdrawal limits and network connections are subject to change.
Travel with adequate cash in Nepalese rupees to pay for beverages, charging, hot showers, snacks, personal expenses, and more. Don’t keep all the cash in one location.
Responsible Trekking and Sherpa Culture
Sherpa communities live in the Everest region, where deep Buddhist traditions are strong. Responsible travel involves respecting local customs, religious sites throughout the trip, people, and the natural environment.
Visitors should not take photographs of people without permission and should not be noisy around monasteries, prayer sites, or religious events. It is also important to note that one shouldn’t walk on prayer mani walls, but around them.
Cleachdaidhean siubhail cunntachail
- Bring your own water bottles as appropriate.
- Avoid leaving plastic and food packaging on the trail
- Please use the proper waste bins
- Respect monasteries and religious objects:
- Please ask permission before taking photographs of local people
- Obey instructions at national park checkpoints

- Support locally operated lodges and services
- Ensure low noise in villages
- Never remove stones, plants, or cultural objects
The Sagarmatha National Park safeguards a high-altitude habitat that is rich in the Himalayan flora and fauna. Responsible trekking not only has the potential to preserve the landscape but also to show respect to the communities along the trail that live and work on it.
Trekking, local culture and wellness are integral components of the Everest View Yoga Trek, so respectful behaviour is key.
Everest View Yoga Trek FAQs
Can people who have never been on a trek before do the Everest View Yoga Trek?
Yes. No prior high altitude trekking experience is required; however, several hours of walking on rough mountain trails is advised.
What is the yoga schedule like when there are days dedicated to trekking?
Morning yoga is held on the designated days, prior to breakfast, followed by trekking. Evenings are set aside for relaxing after walking.
Do you have to do the Namche acclimatization day?
The acclimatisation day is a crucial one when you need to get used to higher altitudes before heading off on your next adventure.
Are there any adaptations for yoga for beginners?
The schedule is an appropriate one for people with no advanced yoga experience. Rather than challenging positions at altitude, gentle movements and stretches are more suitable.
What occurs in the event of a delay of the Lukla flight?
Mountain weather can impact the flights to Lukla. Changes in schedule and/or cancellations of events may necessitate changes in the planned itinerary.
Does this trek need to use technical climbing gear?
No. It is a trail that does not require technical climbing, but is based on trekking trails and requires appropriate clothing and footwear.
Do you allow people to join the trek who don't practice yoga on a regular basis?
Yes. No background in yoga is necessary. The sessions are integrated into the wellness plan and can be done at the individual’s comfort level.
Can you do Everest View Yoga Trek in winter?
Trekking during the winter is possible, but temperatures are much colder and snow may be found at higher altitudes, which necessitates suitable cold-weather clothing and preparation.
Will I be able to charge up electronic devices on the mountain journey?
Charging is usually provided at most lodges, though this is less so in smaller settlements and could be subject to extra fees.
How much money will I need to bring with me on the trip?
The amount needed varies according to the individual’s spending, but it is always wise to have an ample amount of Nepalese rupees, as card and ATM services become scarce outside the larger settlements.
