Day 1 Kathmandu to Nagarkot via Sankhu (38km with 650m altitude gain)
One who has just a few days left of their holiday plan can go for one overnight trip to the great hill station of Nagarkot, where you can view the panoramic view of the Himalayas from east to west from Everest to Ganesh Himal. After an early breakfast in Kathmandu, we ride due east to Sankhu via Bouddha. We will have a lot less traffic after crossing Boudha. Once we reach Sankhu, we will follow a jeep trail mostly uphill to Jarsingpouwa via Lapsiphedi village, with stunning terrain. After Jarsingpouwa, the trails become mostly flat and mixed until Kartike Bhanjyang, then onto our hotel will be uphill about 3 km. O/N Hotel Chautari.Meals: -/L/D
Day 2 Nagarkot-Changu Narayan Temple- Thimi (35km)
After having breakfast with a beautiful sunrise, we start riding on a paved road (we can go to Nala on a dirt trail) until Telkot Danda, and we follow a dirt track off-road towards Changu Narayan Temple, one of the oldest temples in Kathmandu Valley. The trail brings us to Changu Narayan, where Newari artisans carved beautiful stone carvings of Lord Vishnu in the sixth century. We continue downhill by a winding tarmac road to SanoThimi, known for its pottery and traditional masks. If you would like to visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, we can ride to Bhaktapur, and here you can see one of the oldest Royal Palaces, museums, and monuments. After lunch, we ride back to Kathmandu via a side road behind the airport past Pashupatinath temple. Meals: B/L/-
