Puru Thapaliya (Company Leadership)

My name is Puru (Purushottam Thapaliya). I have specialized in mountain trekking and peak climbing since completing the Government Guide Training, offered by Nepal’s Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (KEEP and HRA). With expertise in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan, I have worked as a trekking guide and tour operator in Nepal and across the Himalayas since 2006.

I have been working as a trekking guide for 13 years, but my passion for the field dates back to my childhood. I was born and raised in the Langtang region, specifically in the mountainous district of Nuwakot, 35 km from Kathmandu. As a young boy, I would run up and down the mountains. Whether it was to get to school, help my family farm, or play with my friends, I don’t remember a time when the mountains weren’t my home.

I began working in Nepal’s tourism industry as a porter, where I developed my talent and passion for working with visitors. Years later, I completed my guide training and began doing what I love best—guiding. A few years later, I returned to the mountains. Still fueled by my passion for working with travelers, I have led treks and tours across Nepal and other Trans-Himalayan destinations, including Tibet, Bhutan, and India.

Then in 2006, I founded my own company, My Everest Trip. Using my skills with travelers and the mountains, I have created unique, eco-friendly trips that let others experience the magical power the Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, and Manaslu Himalayas have always held for me. I am proud of the team I have built and the excellent reputation we have earned together here in Kathmandu, and I can’t wait to meet the next adventurers who choose to join us!
