Dag 01: Oankomst yn Kathmandu

One of our team members will greet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon your arrival. We will take you to a four-star hotel in Kathmandu on a B&B plan. We’ll have a brief pre-meeting and introduce you to the team members who will be joining you on the trip. Please feel free to clear up any doubts or ask questions before the trek begins.

If you need trekking gear or essential medications, you can purchase them here, too. Make sure to stick to your home diet plan on your first day, because Kathmandu’s weather, food, and climate are different from what you’re used to. Take a good rest and plan for tomorrow, as we’ll fly to one of Nepal’s most famous airports, renowned for its unique location.

Dag 02: Flean nei Lukla en Trek nei Phakding

Your second day depends on what season you have come for the trek. In off-peak months like January, February, June, July, August, September, and December, you’ll start the day with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860 m), which takes around 35 minutes. This is due to less air traffic. The flight passes over the Dudh Koshi River Valley and gives views of peaks like Kusum Kanguru and Nuptse. Please note that whether flights operate depends entirely on the airline and the number of travelers in a given month.

During the main season months like March, April, May, October, and November, a drive from Kathmandu to Manthali (around 4-5 hrs) is taken, followed by a 20-minute flight from Manthali (Ramechhap) to Lukla. This is due to the air traffic expansion. This arrangement guarantees safe access to Lukla while keeping your luxury trek schedule on track.

After landing in Lukla, the trek to Phakding (2,610 m) begins. You’ll follow the Dudh Koshi River and cross a suspension bridge over it. Continuing forward, we will cross the Ghat village and reach Phakding. Phakding provides a comfortable night of trekking before heading to Namche Bazaar the next day.

Dag 03: Trektocht nei Namche Bazaar

You’ll start trekking from Phakding, following the Dudh Koshi River upstream. The trail crosses several suspension bridges, including Hillary suspension bridge. Forests of pine, rhododendron, and birch line the path, while peaks like Nuptse and Thamserku rise above the valley.

The trail leads to Monjo (2,835 m), where you enter Sagarmatha National Park. After a short break, you continue climbing toward Namche Bazaar (3,440 m), the main trading town of the Khumbu region. Namche is also known as “Gateway to Everest,” which is home to luxury restaurants, hotels, lodges, clubs, shops, money exchange, an internet café, and a bakery.

Dag 04: Akklimatisaasjedei yn Namche Bazaar

You’ll spend the day resting in the Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) to help your body adjust to the altitude. Namche sits in the Dudh Koshi River Valley and is surrounded by peaks like Kusum Kanguru and Thamserku. Walking slowly around the town and visiting local markets allows your body to acclimatize while you see Sherpa life up close.

After breakfast, you can hike to Syangboche Airstrp and Everest View Hotel. You can enjoy the mountain views, take photos, and make memories. You can also go for an optional visit to Khimjung Village and Hillary School. Hillary School, also known as Khumjung School, was established by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1961 to provide education to children in the Everest region. In the afternoon, you’ll rest in your lodge, check your trekking gear, and meet your guide to review the next part of the trek.

Dag 05: Trektocht nei Tengboche

You leave Namche Bazaar in the morning, following the Dudh Koshi River. The path climbs through pine and rhododendron forest, giving you beautiful views of peaks like Ama Dablam and Thamserku. The trek passes through Khumjung (3,780 m) and Sanasa(3,600 m) before reaching Tengboche (3,867 m).

Upon arrival in Tengboche (3,867 m), you can rest at a luxury lodge with hot showers and warm rooms. This place is known for the Tengboche monastery, also called Thyangboche Monastery. It is the largest and most important monastery in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It was built in 1916 by Lama Gulu with support from local Sherpa communities. Inside the monastery, you’ll see ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas.

Dag 06: Trek nei Dingboche

Our trek continues, starting from Tengboche and descending through forests of birch, pine, and rhododendron. The trail leads to Debuche (3,820 m), a small village near the Imja Khola River. Crossing a suspension bridge over the river, you’ll begin a climb to Pangboche (4,252 m). Pangboche is one of the oldest Sherpa settlements in the Khumbu region and has a monastery said to be established by Lama Sanga Dorje (or Sangwa Dorjee) in the 17th century.

From Pangboche, the path rises higher towards Shomare (4,010 m) and continues towards Imja Valley. Imja Valley is famous for Imja Tsho glacier lake, which is a living indicator of climate change and poses a risk of Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs). The higher you go, the fewer trees you see, as the trail enters alpine terrain.

After several hours of ascent, you arrive in Dingboche (4,350 m). It is surrounded by fields of barley and potatoes protected by stone fences. Here you’ll stay at Tashidelek / Good luck luxury lodge that provides warm rooms, fresh meals, and comfort at high altitude.

Dag 07: Akklimatisaasjedei yn Dingboche

Dingboche is the base for further acclimatization before moving towards Lobuche and Everest Base Camp. A rest day is needed to adapt to the thin air. The common acclimatization hike goes to Nagarjun Hill (5,100 m), which takes about 3-4 hrs. From here, you can see Lhotse, Everest, Ama Dablam, and Island Peak.

The Imja Valley is also visible from Dingboche. Fields are surrounded by stone walls to protect crops from the wind. The day is also useful for health checks and careful planning. Guides monitor oxygen levels with pulse oximeters. Fresh meals are prepared with clean ingredients, and lodges provide safe drinking water. The acclimatization walks and luxury care make the journey safe and comfortable before moving to Lobuche the next day.

Dag 08: Trektocht nei Lobuche

The trek begins from Dingboche and heads towards Thukla (4,620 m). The trail passes the Khumbu Khola River and reaches Thukla in 2 hrs. From here, an uphill climb leads to the Thukla Pass, an area filled with memories built for climbers who lost their lives on Everest.

After crossing the pass, the trail moves along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu gletsjer. The Khumbu glacier is 17 km long and is the highest glacier in Nepal. Walking here gives views of Pumori (7,161 m), Lingtren (6,749 m), and Khumbutse (6,665 m). The path is rocky, but short, and after 3-4 hrs you arrive at Lobuche (4,930 m).

In the luxury trek, the stay in Lobuche is made comfortable with lodges that provide heated rooms, clean beds, and fresh meals at high altitude. Dag 09: Trek to Everest Base Camp and Gorak Shep

This might be the last day for you to stay at the luxury teahouses in Everest. You’ll start early from Lobuche and follow the trail along the Khumbu Glacier. After 3-4 hrs of walking, you’ll reach Everest Base Camp (5,364 m). At the base camp, you’ll see climbers’ tents, small memorials, and the starting point for the expedition to Mount Everest.

After spending time at Base Camp and taking photos, you descend a short distance to Gorakshep (5,170 m), a small settlement beside a frozen lakebed. Gorakshep serves as the night stop before the early hike to Kala Patthar the next morning.

Dag 10: Hike to Kala Patthar and Fly to Kathmandu

Final day at Everest, and you’ll start early from Gorakshep to hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 m). The trial is short but steep, taking around 1.5-2 hrs. From the top, you can see Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. The Khumbu glacier, as well as Dudh Koshi River Valley, can be seen far in the distance.

After enjoying the views and taking photos, you’ll descend back to Gorakshep. From Gorakshep, a helicopter flight is arranged to Kathmandu. The flight passes over the Khumbu region, giving aerial views of Pumori, Lingtren, and the glacial systems. Once in Kathmandu, you are transferred to a 4-star hotel. The day ends with a celebratory dinner, marking the end of the Luxury Everest Base Camp trek in comfort and style.
