My name is Puru (Purushottam Thapaliya). I am a trekking guide and tour operator in Nepal, the Himalayas since 2003. I have completed the Government Guide Programme from Nepal’s Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (KEEP and HRA). Now I am specialized in mountain trekking and peak climbing, especially in Nepal.
I was born and raised in the Langtang region, a mountainous region in Nuwakot only 45 kilometers north of Kathmandu. As a young boy, I simply loved running up and down the mountains to school, home, and farming activities.
When I was older I started working in Nepal’s tourism industry. The first few years I worked hard as a porter. A few years later I completed my guide training and started working on different trekking routes and tours in Nepal as well as in other Trans-Himalayan destinations like Tibet, Bhutan, and India.
My love for Everest and the Himalayas, literally translated as “abode of snow”, are deeply rooted in my childhood. Somehow the Mt. Everest and the Himalayas have the magical power to make my heart fly high in the sky.
