My name is Puru (Purushottam Thapaliya). I have been working as a trekking guide and tour operator in Nepal and the Himalayas since 2003. I have completed the Government Guide Programme from Nepal’s Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (KEEP and HRA). Currently, I specialize in mountain trekking and peak climbing, particularly in Nepal.
I grew up in the Langtang region, a mountainous area in Nuwakot, just 45 kilometres north of Kathmandu. As a young boy, I enjoyed running up and down the mountains to get to school, home, and farming activities.
After growing older, I began my career in Nepal’s tourism industry. Initially, I worked as a porter and later completed my guide training. Subsequently, I started leading treks and tours in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, and India.
When I was older I started working in Nepal’s tourism industry. For the first few years, I worked hard as a My love for Everest and the Himalayas, literally translated as “abode of snow”, are deeply rooted in my childhood. Somehow Mt. Everest and the Himalayas have the magical power to make my heart fly high in the sky.
