Nagarkot, a beautiful hilltop, is suited 32 kilometres east of Kathmandu. The top is 2,195 meters above sea level. The trek offers fabulous views of the Everest Ranges, Langtang, and Annapurna. The prodigious sunrise and sunset view from the tower are amazing. You can drive to Nagarkot from Kalambinaya or hike from Sakhu or Bhaktapur. It’s about 4 hours of walking through the pine forest.
If you want something close to Kathmandu, Nagarkot is Nepal’s best Sunrise and Sunset view. Famous for its proximity to the Capital and the incredible surrounding, this Nepal sunrise-sunset view is prevalent. Another famous sunrise tour of Nepal is the Illam, Kanyam tour, which lies in the easternmost part of Nepal. This is about 12 hour drive away from Kathmandu. Also, if you want a Nepal sunrise and sunset view trek, then the Ghorepani Poonhill Trek route is among the most popular ones you shall ever come across. For interesting views around the capital, hilltops such as Chandragiri, Dhulikhel, Phulchowki, etc., shall be equally pleasant.
Among many others, we perceive that the weather of Kathmandu is its best character. Throughout the year, the climate is warm and welcoming. Even winter is about 5 degrees Celsius, and summer doesn’t exceed 30 degrees Celsius, meaning you can visit Nagarkot throughout the year without considering the weather. However, Autumn (September, October, and November) is when the mountains can be seen up to the Evening. In spring (March, April, and May), the views are visible in the morning and blocked in the afternoon. These are the month when Nagarkot is vibrant and crowded. It’s the peak season for trekkers and festive tours. Even Everest Base Camp is crowded during these months.
Other months, i.e., summer and winter, are relatively calm and peaceful, allowing you to explore Nagarkot very peacefully. The mountains might not be seen in Summer, but the greenery and after-rain view make it magical. The same goes for the summer. Just let us know when you will be free, and the booking shall be made.
The best time for the Nagarkot sunrise view is between 5 to 6 in the morning. The Nagarkot sunset view can be seen between 5 to 7 pm, depending on the season. You should reach the view tower at this time.
The ancient tradition of Nagarkot (which represents the culture of the whole of Nepal) is an exceptional blend of Hindu and Buddhist ethos. Bhaktapur, the City’s Core cultural wealth, was developed between the 15th and 18th centuries when the Newari people used to lead the valley. The skill of the local artisans, especially the Newari people’s wood, stone, and metal casting, is still praised by the world. There weaving, pottery, and painting are also part of people’s lives.
After the 18th century, the Bhramin, Chhetri, Magar, Gurung, and Rai people from hills and mountains started to migrate here. Their entry changed Kathmandu’s economy and significantly impacted the local culture. This was when the Gurung people began to reside in Nagarkot. These Gurung people have their Launage, Gurung traditional dress, and different kinds of food. They are usually good at making buff items, local alcoholic drinks, and warm Tibetan soup.

Nagarkot view Tower lies at the top of the hill on the north side of Bhaktapur. People usually plan Nagarkot tours without knowing that Nagarkot View tower is about a 30 to 45-minute walk from Nagarkot Park. Nagarkot bus park is the end point of public vehicles to Nagarkot, and you should set the rest of the journey on your foot. Private vehicles, i.e. cars, vans, and motorcycles, can quickly go to Nagarkot View Tower.
Drive to Nagarkot and back takes less than 3 hours. So, his Nepal sunrise tour is just one day long. However, MyEverestTrip sunrise tours have one day for arrival and other days for Sightseeing around the Kathmandu Valley. Also, the 5th day is reserved for Departure. However, it’s not just about the Himalayas. The Nagarkot viewpoint lies perfectly calm in between the forest. Beautiful Sal trees are around, and you can even spot the wildlife. The birds and the Mammals about make them exciting.
Yes, you can see Everest peaks from Nagarkot. Now, don’t imagine seeing Nagarkot Everest View as massive and Majestic Everest as you would often see in the photos.
