Brief Itinerary of Lower Dolpo Trek Map

The location shown on the Lower Dolpo trek map represents the journey’s itinerary. Per the map, the voyage to Lower Dolpo begins with a scenic flight to Nepalgunj (150m) from Kathmandu (1,355m). The flight continues to Jhupal, Dolpa (2,475m), and trekking towards Dunai (2,103m) on the second day.

Following the riverside of the Beheri River, the trek continues to the attractive village of Tarakot (2,537m) on the third day. The fourth day starts with walking alongside the Tarap Chu River and passing through Sandul Gompa and numerous villages to reach Laini (3,160m). Nawarpani (3,545m)is your fifth-day destination on your trek to Lower Dolpo. 

Hiking along the uphill to Kamattarke, you’ll get to Dho Tarap on the sixth day. Day seven is acclimatization day at the Dho Tarap village, located at an altitude of 4,080m. With the fresh energy of the previous day’s trek, you’ll continue your walk to Numa La Base Camp (4,440m) in eight days while enjoying the view of lush grasslands. The ninth day is one of the most significant days in the journey, and it involves passing Numa La Pass (5,190m) and getting to Pelung Tang (4,465m). The trek offers an astonishing view of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Phoksundo Lake.

Day ten includes a trek to the steep ascent of another pass of the journey, Baga La Pass (5,070m), and the day’s resting point is Ringmo (3,600m). The highlight of the trek is the stunning sight of Mount Kanjiroba, also spelled as Kanjirowa. Passing through the Shey Phoksundo Lake, you’ll descend to Shyanta (2,250m) on the eleventh day. The twelfth day marks the final day of trekking in Dolpo, which takes you to Juphal (2,475m) via Dunai. The journey returns to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj on a scenic flight, and the trekking trip to Lower Dolpo ends.
