Day 01: Kathmandu to Pokhara by Drive
Your journey to the 8-day Annapurna Base Camp trek begins when you leave Kathmandu and reach Pokhara. The drive takes 5-6 hours from Kathmandu.
The drive provides fantastic views of Nepal’s surroundings. When you arrive in Pokhara, you’ll check into your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay before starting your trek.

Altitude Sickness:
One common difficulty for everyone trekking the Annapurna Base Camp trek is Altitude sickness, as you will reach altitudes exceeding 4000 meters.
Take your steps slowly, rest properly when needed, and stay comfortable. Avoid pushing yourself faster or harder than you’re comfortable with; drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Route Difficulty:
The trek is moderately difficult. You should be comfortable walking for several hours a day, often on stone steps, forest trails, and uneven ground. The route includes regular uphill and downhill sections, so a reasonable level of fitness will make the journey easier.
Annapurna Base Camp is at 4,130 m / 13,550 ft, and the higher part of the trek can feel more tiring as the altitude increases. We will keep a comfortable pace and take breaks along the way. Previous trekking experience helps, but you don’t need to be an experienced trekker to complete this route.

There are two primary permits required for the Annapurna Base Camp trek:
Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP):
The Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) is a popular permit in Nepal that allows you to visit any area of the Annapurna region without additional fees.
ACAP permits expire if you pass through your departure point, but they remain valid as long as you are in the Annapurna region. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) issues these permits.
Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) Card:
A TIMS Card is required for this trekking route. It is arranged through a registered trekking agency and keeps a record of important information about trekkers and their planned route.
Our team will arrange the required card as part of the permit process. You will need to provide your passport and any other documents required when the permits are prepared.

How difficult is the 8 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek?
Trekking to the Annapurna Base Camp is a moderately complex endeavor, as it is both relatively easy to access and to complete. Different trekking routes lead to the Annapurna Base Camp, each with its duration and level of difficulty.

Travel Insurance

Annapurna Base Camp Trek 8 Days Route Map
As discussed in our itinerary route map for your 8-day Annapurna Base Camp trek, your journey will start from Kathmandu.o Pokhara by tourist bus directly through Kathmandu. After Pokhara, your next drive will be towards Kimchi. F You’ll travel from Kimchi, you’ll drive to Jhinu Dada. After reaching Jhinu Dada, your trek will start.
According to our itinerary map, your trek will begin in Sinuwa and continue along the route to Ghandruk and Chhomrong village. After resting and having a night in Sinuwa, you’ll trek to the Himalayas. Before reaching the Himalayas, you’ll go through Bamboo and Dovan.
After the Himalaya, your next and final destination is the Annapurna Base Camp. Per our trip itinerary, you’ll pass through Deurali and Machhapuchhre base camps before you reach the Annapurna base camp. After getting to Annapurna base camp, your journey will stay the same. You’ll start to return from a trip.
Per the trekking map itinerary, you’ll return to Bamboo from Annapurna Base Camp. After Bamboo, you’ll directly trek to Jhinu Dada. After reaching Jhinu Dada, you will go to Khimche and drive to Pokhara. Per our itinerary, you can stay and explore Nepal’s beautiful city, Pokhara, or return to Kathmandu.
Who Is This Trek Suitable For?
The trek is suitable for those who do not have much time, but still want to walk to Annapurna Base Camp. Being able to walk several hours a day for several days in a row, plus being able to do regular uphills and downhills.
You do not need previous high altitude trekking experience. It helps to do some regular walking or hiking before the trip so your body is used to spending several hours on your feet.
Solo travelers, couples, families with older children, and groups can choose this itinerary if they are comfortable with the physical demands of the trek. Our guide will be with you throughout the trekking section and our porter team will help with your luggage.

Both approaches take you to Annapurna Base Camp. The shorter version is useful when your holiday schedule is tight, while a longer itinerary may suit you better if you prefer shorter walking days.
Accommodation During the Trek
We will stay in local teahouses during the mountain section of the trek. These are simple lodges where trekkers can eat, sleep, and rest after a day on the trail. Your package includes five nights in mountain teahouses with twin sharing accommodation.
The facilities are basic and can differ from one village to another. Some lodges have shared bathrooms, while hot showers, WiFi, and charging may be available for an additional fee.
Your package also includes two nights in Pokhara. Our team will arrange the accommodation according to the itinerary and availability.
Mobile Network and Internet
You can get mobile coverage in parts of the Annapurna Base Camp route, but the signal is not consistent everywhere. Some sections have weak coverage, and there may be places where you cannot connect at all.
Some teahouses have WiFi, usually for an additional charge. The connection is generally less reliable than what you will find in Kathmandu or Pokhara. Charging is also available at some lodges and may cost extra.
It is a good idea to carry a power bank and charge your devices whenever you have the opportunity. If you need to stay in regular contact with people at home, keep in mind that there will be periods when internet or mobile service may not be available.
