Trip Overview

The Everest View Yoga Trek combines mountain trekking with daily yoga and relaxation sessions in Nepal’s Everest region. It’s for travelers who prefer a well-rounded daily schedule in the Khumbu landscape. It starts in Kathmandu, then you will be flown to Lukla and trek through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, and Tengboche.

The journey culminates in Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft), with an acclimatization day. On this day, you will enjoy a morning yoga class and a brief hike to the Everest View Hotel area, where you will be at about 3,880 m / 12,730 ft. This will help you adjust to the higher elevation before you head further up the trail.

You will also arrive at Tengboche (3,860 m / 12,664 ft). You will pass through forests, be on suspension bridges, and pass through traditional Sherpa settlements along the way. As you ascend to Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kwangde, the landscape shifts.

The Everest Yoga Trek includes morning yoga on scheduled days, breakfast, and the day’s trek. You can rest and relax at each overnight destination. This setup contrasts with a typical trek route, which usually emphasizes walking and visiting sites.

The return flight follows the route back to Lukla, through Monjo and the other villages, before returning to Kathmandu. Once in the capital, visit Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. These visits offer a chance to experience some of the Kathmandu Valley’s cultural and religious sites.

The route is not technical, but it is a multi-hour walk along often uneven mountain tracks. Prepare well, take it slow, and pay attention to the altitude. The Everest View Yoga Trek combines trekking, yoga, cultural visits, and relaxation, making it an active trip that supports relaxation through yoga practice.

My Everest Trip provides trekking services, accommodation, package arrangements, and transportation based on your chosen trip, helping travelers with the practical details.

Why This Trip Is Special?

The Everest View Yoga Trek combines regular yoga sessions with mountain trekking, so you can experience the Khumbu region while still having time for yoga and gentle movement. Yoga classes are offered in the mornings on scheduled hiking days to help you start calmly.

The itinerary includes a dedicated acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft), followed by a trek to the Everest View Hotel area (3,880 m / 12,730 ft). This lets you enjoy the higher mountain environment without rushing through all the activities.

The Everest Yoga Trek is not just a walking holiday; it also includes rest breaks. You will also visit Tengboche, pass through Sherpa villages and forests, and have an interesting tour of Kathmandu’s cultural sites.

This trek is ideal for anyone seeking an active, well-rounded day-to-day experience in the Himalayas, thanks to its blend of trekking, yoga, acclimatization, and cultural sightseeing.

My Everest Trip has helped me to achieve my EBC dream.. Trekking the EBC with My Everest Trip is one of my best hiking experiences. The initial contact with Puru, owner of the company, was smooth. He always gave me timely responses even though there are about 12 hours of time difference. Puru also made sure we were well taken care throughout the whole trip. He was at Kathmandu airport to pick us up, sent us to the hotel; He was on phone with different airlines to secure us a flight to Lukla when our flight had technical issues. After we were back in Kathmandu, he provided us with a private car to have a day tour of the city. During the trekking, our guide Shree, with his extensive experience on the trails, suggested us to hike counter-clockwise, which was the opposite of my original plan. I am so glad I took this advice and made our 12-day EBC-ChoLa Pass- Gokyo trekking a success. He also provided micro spikes and warm mittens for us. Without micro spikes we would not have crossed Cho-La Pass. I would highly recommend My Everest Trip to anyone who has the dream of hiking in the Himalayas.

EBC- Our most rewarding hiking trip Our 12-day hiking experience to EBC couldn’t be enjoyable without the help of our guide Shree and porter Mitra. Shree’s experience on the trail gave us good advice to hike counter clockwise, Namche- EBC- Cho-la Pass- Gokyo-Namche. Even though we had a few days of bad weather, We never had any problems, but enjoyed spectacular views of the Himalaya mountains, valleys, and the ecosystem. we would highly recommend Shree and My Everest Trip for anybody that want to experience Mount Everest camp hike.

EBC Trek, absolutely incredible!!! I can’t say enough incredible things about My Everest Trip, especially Puru (the owner) and Shree (my guide). From the very beginning, Puru was unbelievably responsive—patiently answering what must have felt like a billion questions and making me feel completely confident and prepared before even arriving in Nepal. Shree, my guide, was absolutely exceptional. I’m not the fastest trekker, but he never once made me feel rushed. He walked at my pace, constantly checked on how I was feeling, and took my health very seriously—making sure I stayed safe and avoided altitude sickness. His encouragement and positivity kept me going on the toughest days, and I truly don’t think I would have made it to Base Camp without him. What really sets this team apart is how far above and beyond they go. They helped customize my trip so I could spend a night at the iconic Everest View Hotel, which ended up being one of the highlights of the entire experience. They also handled all logistics seamlessly—securing the best tea houses and lounges along the route so I was always comfortable. Shree even helped me track down a tattoo studio in Namche, which turned out to be the highest tattoo studio in the world—such a unique and unforgettable addition to the journey! When weather delays impacted flights, they acted quickly and got me onto the second helicopter out—something that made all the difference in catching my return flight while others were stuck on the mountain. As a solo traveler, I always felt safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. Puru and Shree made sure I was comfortable every step of the way, turning what could have been a daunting experience into something unforgettable. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime trip, and as someone who isn’t exactly in peak physical shape, I’m incredibly proud to have made it to Everest Base Camp—with huge thanks to their guidance, care, and encouragement. If you’re considering trekking in Nepal, I wholeheartedly recommend My Everest Trip. You won’t find a more dedicated, thoughtful, and professional team.

Amazing Trip to EBC ! Our trip to EBC was amazing and an adventurous trip ! We were 4 hrs away from EBC and had to turn around due to a blizzard ( Snow storm ) and they had closed EBC due to amount of snow and risk. Since we had Shree with us, who was an absolute gentlemen, caring, and experienced, he guided us to a safe place. We walked down for 10 hrs in 3 feet of snow so that we can get rescued. I have to say that, without shree it wouldn't have been a great experience. I would highly recommend to hire Shree as your guide.

Unforgettable Adventure My friend and I had the best time trekking to Everest Base Camp with our amazing local guide, Shree! We're from Alaska and fairly used to hiking, but found the expertise and assistance from My Everest Trip to be invaluable (we got a sleeping bag, trekking poles, a porter, and all of the details taken care of!) The real treat though was getting a glimpse of the Himalayan life from a local tour guide. From getting patient answers to many questions, introduced to local delicacies, to evening musical jam sessions in teahouses, this trip was an unforgettable adventure.

I recently completed a 14-day trek in the Himalayas , around Ama Dablam and Gokyo lake, and I really enjoyed it. Our guide Shree was professional, calm, positive and knew the route very well. He checked our health on the altitude, kept us organized, and made sure everything went smoothly. We had to change the route due to the weather and Shree was very flexible, suggested options to us which I appreciated very much . If you’re planning a trek, I definitely recommend him.

Thankyou Shree!🙏 Just wrapped up a 14-day trek in the Himalayas and it was absolutely unreal – thanks to our amazing guide Shree. He knew the mountains like the back of his hand, kept us safe, and made the whole trip feel easy (even when it wasn’t!). Super organised, always had a smile, and genuinely cared about the group and locals. He went above and beyond every day – from helping us with altitude to sharing laughs over a cuppa at night. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide. If you’re thinking of doing a trek in the Himalayas – do it, and make sure you go with this legend.

If you had to pick one company to plan your EBC trek or really anything I would 100% pick this company, simply because of the owner. There was moments during my trip where I had concerns and the owner was always SO QUICK to reply and handle the problem in such a professional and simple manner. Knows how to communicate and reassure his clients like a natural born leader(he was also a guide for EBC before so he is extremely educated on trekking). Thank you again for this amazing experience🙏🙏.

We did the Annapurna circuit hike through this company, which took us 12 days. Everything was very well organised, and MP, our guide, was very helpful and ensured we were always able to acclimatise without any issues. Mahesh, our porter, was also great. The company also offered to transport our bags from Kathmandu to Pokhara, as we didn’t plan on heading back to Kathmandu for a couple of weeks.

October, November, April and May are some of the best months for the Everest View Trek as it offers a great mix of comfortable walking and mountain visibility. Warm clothing is more important and winter can work as well.

Trek Difficulty

Everest View Yoga Trek is not a technical climb, but a moderate hike up the mountain. There are some uphill and downhill tracks, suspension bridges, stone steps, and rocky tracks on the mountain. The walk gets more challenging as you approach the highest point, Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft).

Distance is not the issue; it’s the altitude. Slowly increasing walking time and getting extra rest are key. An acclimatization day at Namche is included, giving visitors the chance to acclimatize before moving on to Tengboche (3,860 m / 12 664 ft).

Factor What to Expect Fitness Requirement
Daily walking Usually 3 to 6 hours Comfortable with regular walking
Trail surface Stone paths, dirt trails, steps and suspension bridges Good balance and stable footwear
Uphill sections Several sustained climbs Basic cardiovascular fitness
Downhill sections Frequent descents during return Comfortable with controlled downhill walking
Altitude Maximum around (3,880 m / 12,730 ft) Gradual acclimatization is important
Yoga Morning sessions during trekking days Basic flexibility is helpful but advanced yoga is unnecessary
Rest day Acclimatization at Namche Light activity recommended
Technical climbing None No climbing experience required

Fitness Requirements

Legs and lungs can be prepared for departure by regular walking, stair climbing, and moderate cardiovascular exercise.

Flexibility exercises can also help, since there is a lot of repetitive uphill/downhill running.

The Everest Yoga Trek is more comfortable when you maintain a steady pace rather than trying to walk quickly.

Normal Everest View Trek vs Everest View Yoga Trek

It’s the same route on top, but a different route each day. A typical Everest View Trek involves walking, observing the landscape, and acclimating. In the yoga version, a series of wellness activities are planned into the trekking schedule.

Everest View Yoga Trek offers yoga classes at the start of several days of the trip, along with breakfast and trekking. The itinerary also includes evening relaxation. This establishes a daily schedule that involves exercise and rest.

Feature Normal Everest View Trek Everest View Yoga Trek
Main purpose Trekking and mountain sightseeing Trekking combined with yoga and relaxation
Morning routine Breakfast and preparation Morning yoga followed by breakfast
Trekking Main daily activity Main daily activity
Yoga sessions Usually not included Included according to itinerary
Evening routine Rest at lodge Relaxation period
Acclimatization Included where planned Included with yoga and relaxation
Pace Depends on group itinerary Designed around trekking and wellness sessions
Wellness focus Limited Regular yoga and relaxation
Suitable for Trekkers focused mainly on walking Travelers wanting trekking with a wellness routine

Neither alters the mountain environment in any way. The difference is the daily plan. Those opting for the yoga experience should be prepared for the same altitude, trail surfaces, and walking involved.

Yoga, Meditation and Daily Wellness Routine

Yoga is not a retreat program, but a part of the day-to-day routine. Morning sessions will be held before breakfast on trek days. The sessions are scheduled to allow gentle exercise before the day’s walk.

Evening relaxation after the trek is also a part of the Everest Yoga Trek. The location can vary depending on the lodge and available space, so travelers should not expect a dedicated yoga space in every mountain village.

Part of Day Planned Activity Purpose
Morning Yoga session Gentle movement and preparation
After yoga Breakfast Prepare for trekking
Daytime Trekking Travel between mountain settlements
Arrival Lodge check-in and rest Recovery after walking
Evening Relaxation Quiet recovery before the next day
Acclimatization day Yoga and light hiking Support gradual adjustment to altitude

Yoga should not be uncomfortable at greater heights. It’s best to do gentle stretching rather than poses or hard workouts. The aim is to promote mobility and relaxation, not limits.

Therefore, the Everest View Yoga Trek is ideal for yoga enthusiasts with no advanced yoga experience. My Everest Trip can arrange the above mentioned activities and support during the package.

Altitude and Acclimatization in the Everest Region

Altitude is a key factor in the Everest View Yoga Trek. The route starts at Kathmandu (1,320 m / 4,331 ft), ascends to Lukla (2,860 m / 9,383 ft), and then heads up to Namche and Tengboche. The maximum elevation of the tour is the area of the Everest View Hotel at around 3,880 m / 12,730 ft.

Location Approximate Elevation Role in the Itinerary
Kathmandu (1,320 m / 4,331 ft) Arrival and departure
Lukla (2,860 m / 9,383 ft) Trek starting point
Phakding (2,640 m / 8,661 ft) First trekking overnight
Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft) Main acclimatization location
Everest View Hotel area (3,880 m / 12,730 ft) Acclimatization hike
Tengboche (3,860 m / 12,664 ft) Highest overnight point

Acclimatize to the high altitude on the planned day at Namche. Take it easy, drink plenty of liquids, and inform your guide if you get symptoms like headache, unusual tiredness, dizziness, or nausea. If symptoms worsen or become severe, avoid further climbing until an expert examines you.

Lukla Flight Information and Weather Delays

The Everest View Yoga Trek starts and ends with flights from Kathmandu to the Khumbu region, so flights to Lukla are a key part of the trek. The flight is brief, but mountain weather can affect timing.

In high-tourist seasons, flights to Lukla may depart from and return to Ramechhap Airport instead of Kathmandu. Ramechhap Airport is also called Manthali Airport and is a key departure point for flights to Lukla during high season.

Issue What Travelers Should Know
Flight duration Usually around 30 to 35 minutes
Main destinations Kathmandu or Ramechhap to Lukla
Weather Cloud, wind and visibility can affect operations.
Delays Flights may be delayed, rescheduled, or canceled.
Peak season Ramechhap operations may be used during busy periods.
Flexibility Keep some schedule flexibility around flight days.
Baggage Airline baggage limits apply.
Alternative arrangements Helicopter or later flights may sometimes be considered separately.

Lukla weather can be unpredictable and may affect flight operations, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.

My Everest Trip can arrange the flight arrangements included in the package, but the itinerary is subject to the operating schedule and the circumstances on the travel date.

Accommodation on the Everest View Yoga Trek

Yoga Trekking to Everest is a Yoga Tour Package that offers accommodation in Kathmandu and local lodges during the trek. The lodges are for trekkers and offer campsite-style amenities for resting, eating, and sleeping after a day on the trail.

Rooms are generally simple and can have twin beds. Private or shared bathrooms can be available, depending on the lodge. The buildings get simpler the farther you go toward the mountains.

Location Accommodation Typical Facilities
Kathmandu Hotel Private room, bathroom, electricity and standard hotel facilities
Phakding Trekking lodge Basic room, dining area and shared or private bathroom depending on lodge
Namche Trekking lodge Rooms, dining area, electricity and some internet facilities
Tengboche Trekking lodge Basic rooms, dining area and limited facilities
Monjo Trekking lodge Basic rooms and dining facilities
Lukla Trekking lodge Basic rooms, dining area and access to electricity

In most cases, heating is provided only in the communal dining area, not in single rooms or single-bedroom rooms. Charging and hot showers may incur additional charges at higher elevations.

Accommodation standards are not as high as in city hotels, so visitors should not expect luxury, but rather practical mountain lodging.

Food, Drinking Water and Meals During the Trek

A proper diet is crucial to keeping you energized on the Everest View Yoga Trek. Rice, noodles, soup, potatoes, vegetables, eggs, pasta and bread are typical items served at trekking lodges. Dal bhat is also widely available along the route.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner should provide enough energy for regular walking. Tea and coffee are readily available, but availability and cost may depend on lodge stock.

Don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink water. Unless filtered and/or treated, trekkers should not drink water from the streams.

Permits and Entry Requirements

The Everest View Yoga Trek passes through Sagarmatha National Park and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality. So, national park and local entry requirements are both applicable.

Requirement Issuing Authority Purpose
Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit National park authority Entry into the protected area
Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality tourism fee Local rural municipality Local entry into Khumbu
Passport Traveler Identification and permit processing
Visa Government of Nepal Legal entry into Nepal

Note that the Khumbu local tourism fee is not a restricted area trekking permit for this route. Not an area of restricted trekking.

For those states where the trip includes permits and local entry, My Everest Trip will obtain these as part of the package. During the trek, travelers must still carry their passports with all passport details.

Packing List and Yoga Equipment

When packing for the Everest View Yoga Trek, it’s crucial to balance out the gear you need for trekking with the attire that is comfortable for yoga practice. You don’t need mountaineering gear, as this journey is a trekking route, not a technical climbing route.

Weather is extremely variable, and warm layers and waterproofs are essential even in the warmer trekking seasons.

Essential Trekking Items

  • Good shoes for hiking (comfortable shoes for walking with traction on the ground)
  • Warm jacket/insulating layers
  • Thermal inner clothing
  • Waterproof jacket and trousers
  • Warm hat, gloves and socks
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Toiletries and medications for personal use
  • Headlamp (with spare batteries)
  • Small daypack
  • Power bank and charging cables

Yoga Items

  • Lightweight yoga clothing
  • Small personal yoga mat (optional)
  • Comfortable stretching clothes
  • Light towel

The reason for a compact yoga mat is that it may be cumbersome to carry additional weight when mountain walking. Talk to My Everest Trip before you leave about how to pack your bags for the trip.

Mobile Network, Internet and Charging Facilities

Mobile connectivity coverage on the trail is incomplete; however, it is possible in parts of the Everest region. Depending on location, the strength of the signal may vary as a function of weather and surrounding terrain.

According to Nepal Telecom, its 4G service is available in all 77 districts, but coverage may not be available for certain locations on the mountain. In larger villages (such as Namche), connectivity is generally easier than it is in smaller villages in the Everest region.

Location Mobile Network Internet Charging
Kathmandu Strong Widely available Widely available
Lukla Generally available Available in many lodges Usually available
Phakding Available in areas Limited to lodge services Usually available for a fee
Namche Generally good Available in many places Widely available
Tengboche Variable Limited Available at some lodges
Monjo Variable Limited Usually available
Trekking trail Intermittent Usually unavailable Not available

Remember to take a power bank as charging can be a costly business at mountain lodges. Bring key documents and maps with you out of Kathmandu.

Health, Safety and Travel Insurance

Everest View Yoga Trek is done at medium to high altitude, so you need to prepare your health seriously. The route will challenge you physically, but a steady walking pace, enough water, and rest will help you cope.

Before traveling, talk to a qualified medical practitioner about any medical issues you may have. Your travel insurance should cover trekking at the highest altitude in your itinerary and include emergency medical treatment and evacuation, if available.

Important Safety Practices

  • Don’t rush; walk at your own pace.
  • Drink water regularly
  • Get proper rest and sleep.
  • Let your guide know of any unusual symptoms.
  • Don’t store important medicines out of reach.
  • Listen to the weather forecast and follow the instructions
  • Bring travel insurance papers
  • Do not go any higher if severe symptoms of altitude occur.

In addition, weather can impact flights to Lukla, so it’s important to have a bit of flexibility with regard to the flight days. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) identifies rapidly changing mountain weather as an operational factor in the area of Lukla.

Other Treks in the Everest Region

Routes in the Everest region offer both shorter hikes with viewpoints and longer, high-altitude treks. The Everest View Yoga Trek is a suitable option for those who cannot make it to Everest Base Camp.

Trek Typical Duration Highest Point or Main Destination Difficulty Main Feature
Everest View Trek About 7 to 10 days Around (3,880 m / 12,730 ft) Moderate Namche, Everest views and Tengboche
Everest Base Camp Trek About 14 to 16 days (5,364 m / 17,598 ft) at Base Camp Challenging Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar
Gokyo Valley Trek About 12 to 15 days Around (5,360 m / 17,585 ft) at Gokyo Ri Challenging Gokyo Lakes and mountain viewpoints
Three Passes Trek About 18 to 21 days Above (5,400 m / 17,700 ft) Very challenging Renjo La, Cho La and Kongma La
Everest Panorama Trek About 10 to 12 days Around (3,880 m / 12,730 ft) Moderate Short Khumbu experience with mountain views
Jiri to Everest Base Camp About 18 to 21 days Everest Base Camp Challenging Longer approach through the middle hills
Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek About 13 to 15 days Around (4,600 m / 15,092 ft) Challenging Close views of Ama Dablam

Everest is a prominent trekking area and has many trekking routes and trekking peaks in this area.

If you prefer yoga and a shorter trek up the Khumbu, the Everest Yoga trek too offers a different day-to-day plan of the day as compared to the longer high-altitude treks.

Money, ATMs and Payment Facilities

The principal currency in Nepal is the Nepali Rupee (NR), used throughout the Everest View Yoga Trek. Kathmandu has numerous banks, ATMs, and currency exchange services, but it gets harder to predict availability in the mountains.

While Namche Bazaar has banking and ATM services, they are not as extensive as those in larger settlements, and travelers should not rely solely on electronic payments. ATM availability, cash withdrawal limits and network connections are subject to change.

Travel with adequate cash in Nepalese rupees to pay for beverages, charging, hot showers, snacks, personal expenses, and more. Don’t keep all the cash in one location.

Responsible Trekking and Sherpa Culture

Sherpa communities live in the Everest region, where deep Buddhist traditions are strong. Responsible travel involves respecting local customs, religious sites throughout the trip, people, and the natural environment.

Visitors should not take photographs of people without permission and should not be noisy around monasteries, prayer sites, or religious events. It is also important to note that one shouldn’t walk on prayer mani walls, but around them.

Responsible Travel Practices

  • Bring your own water bottles as appropriate.
  • Avoid leaving plastic and food packaging on the trail
  • Please use the proper waste bins
  • Respect monasteries and religious objects:
  • Please ask permission before taking photographs of local people
  • Obey instructions at national park checkpoints
  • Maintain a low level of disturbance of wildlife
  • Support locally operated lodges and services
  • Ensure low noise in villages
  • Never remove stones, plants, or cultural objects

The Sagarmatha National Park safeguards a high-altitude habitat that is rich in the Himalayan flora and fauna. Responsible trekking not only has the potential to preserve the landscape but also to show respect to the communities along the trail that live and work on it.

Trekking, local culture and wellness are integral components of the Everest View Yoga Trek, so respectful behaviour is key.
