The Annapurna Base Camp route takes you from the lower hills of the Annapurna region to a high-mountain sanctuary surrounded by peaks. The journey includes village trails, forests, stone steps, mountain ridges, and a gradual approach to Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters, as outlined in the detailed itinerary on our package page.

Our Annapurna Base Camp Trek Group Join 2027 is designed for travelers who would like to experience this route with an organized trekking team rather than arranging every part of the journey themselves. The itinerary covers 12 days and includes Kathmandu, Pokhara, Ghorepani, Poon Hill, Tadapani, Chhomrong, Machhapuchhre Base Camp, and Annapurna Base Camp.

What makes this route interesting is the changing landscape as you gain elevation. The early days pass through villages, farmland, and forest, while the later section follows the Modi Khola valley toward the Annapurna Sanctuary. After reaching the base camp, the trail descends through Bamboo and Jhinu Danda before returning to Pokhara.

At My Everest Trip, we arrange the main trekking services included in the package, including accommodation, meals during the trek, transportation, a licensed guide, permits, and porter arrangements as specified in the package.

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek Group Join 2027 is suitable for solo travelers, couples, and small groups who would like to share the trekking experience with other travelers.

Annapurna Khopra Ridge Trek

Why Choose the Annapurna Base Camp Route?

The route gives you more than a walk to a single destination. Before reaching the base camp, you pass through several different environments and communities.

Ghorepani and Poon Hill show you the lower Annapurna landscape, with woodland paths and mountain views. The path then passes through Tadapani and Chhomrong to the deeper part of the valley.

From Chhomrong onward, the surroundings become increasingly mountainous. Bamboo, Dovan, Himalaya, Deurali and Machhapuchhre Base Camp lead toward the final climb to Annapurna Base Camp.

The return journey has its own character. Rather than ending at the base camp, the route continues through Bamboo and Jhinu Danda, where natural hot springs offer a chance to relax before continuing toward Pothana and Pokhara.

What Is an Annapurna Base Camp Group Joining Trek?

An Annapurna Base Camp Group Joining Trek means that individual travelers and small groups can travel together on a scheduled trekking arrangement instead of organizing a completely private trip.

Our guide leads the group along the planned route and helps coordinate the daily walking schedule, accommodation, and other trekking arrangements.

You do not have to arrive in Nepal with a large group of friends. Solo travelers can also contact our team to ask about available group arrangements.

The group format can be useful for people who want the structure of an organized trek while also having the opportunity to meet other travelers.

Our Annapurna Base Camp Trek Group Join 2027 follows the 12-day itinerary published for this package. The route begins with travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara and finishes with the return from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

Who Can Join Our ABC Group Trek?

This trek suits travelers who can comfortably walk for several hours on consecutive days. Previous Himalayan trekking experience helps but isn’t essential if you prepare properly.

The trail includes long stone stair sections, forest paths, suspension bridges, and repeated uphill and downhill walking. Day 3, from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani, includes a long climb through Ulleri. Later in the trek, the route reaches much higher elevations.

Our team recommends preparing before arrival in Nepal. Regular walking, uphill hiking, and general cardiovascular exercise can help you become more comfortable with the daily walking schedule.

If you have questions about your fitness, previous trekking experience, or the route, speak with our team before booking.

4 Days
Easy

From Ghorepani to Annapurna Base Camp

We use this route for the 12-day itinerary because the journey does not begin at high altitude. The first trekking days allow you to move gradually from the lower hills toward the higher parts of the Annapurna region.

Ghorepani is an important stop on the route. From here, the early-morning climb to Poon Hill offers views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre.

The trail then continues through Tadapani and Chhomrong. From Chhomrong, the route enters a deeper section of the valley and follows the Modi Khola area toward Bamboo, Dovan, and Himalaya.

The most significant altitude gain comes as you approach Machhapuchhre Base Camp and then Annapurna Base Camp. The detailed itinerary places Machhapuchhre Base Camp at 3,700 meters and Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters.

Reaching Annapurna Base Camp

The approach to Annapurna Base Camp is different from the lower sections of the trek. The forest becomes less dominant, and the mountains feel much closer.

From Himalaya, the trail continues toward Deurali and Hinku Cave before reaching Machhapuchhre Base Camp. From there, the route continues into the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Annapurna Base Camp sits within a natural mountain amphitheater, with high peaks surrounding the area. The package itinerary provides an overnight stay at a teahouse at ABC, allowing trekkers to experience the mountain environment after completing the climb.

For many trekkers, this is the central part of the journey, but the return route still has several important sections ahead.

The Return Journey from Base Camp

The descent from ABC to Bamboo is one of the longer walking days of our itinerary. The route follows the same general valley back through Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Deurali, and Dovan before reaching Bamboo.

The following day takes you toward Jhinu Danda. This section passes through Sinuwa and Chhomrong before descending to Jhinu.

Jhinu Danda is known for its natural hot springs. The springs are located downhill from the village beside the Modi Khola, giving trekkers an opportunity to rest after several days on the trail.

From Jhinu, the route continues toward Pothana and then Phedi before the drive back to Pokhara.

Best Time for the Trek

Our package lists Autumn and Spring as the recommended seasons for the trek.

Spring generally brings warmer conditions to the lower parts of the route, while rhododendron forests add seasonal color to the landscape.

Autumn comes after the monsoon season and is usually the favorite season for trekkers who want mountain views and a more stable trail.

The higher the elevation, the colder it is in winter, and you may encounter snow or ice on higher trails. Monsoon rain may make stone steps and forest trails wet and slippery, and clouds may reduce mountain visibility.

The best time depends on your preferred weather conditions, available travel dates, and mountain-trekking experience.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek Difficulty

Our package classifies the trek as Moderate. The difficulty comes from the combination of distance, elevation gain, stone steps, and several consecutive days of walking. The route is not a technical climbing trip, but you should be prepared for long walking days.

The climb from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani is particularly demanding because of the many stone steps around Ulleri. The approach from Himalaya to ABC is another important section because the trail continues above 3,000 meters.

The return from ABC to Bamboo is also relatively long at approximately 15 to 16 km according to our itinerary.

Regular walking and uphill exercise can make the experience more comfortable.

Accommodation During the Trek

Our package includes two nights of hotel accommodation in Pokhara and mountain teahouse accommodation on a twin-sharing basis as specified in the confirmed itinerary. The package states that the mountain accommodation is based on twin sharing.

Teahouses provide basic rooms and dining areas for trekkers. Facilities become simpler as you move higher on the route.

The accommodation is intended to provide a practical place to rest between walking days. During busy trekking periods, room availability can become more limited, so we recommend confirming your booking in advance.

annapurna

Food During the Trek

Meals are included during the trekking section, depending on your package. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided during the trekking days.

Teahouses along the route serve a range of local and continental meals. Common choices include rice, noodles, soups, vegetables, eggs, and other simple dishes.

Food becomes an important part of the trek because you are walking for several hours each day. We recommend eating regularly and carrying a few personal snacks for longer sections.

Drinks are not included in the package, so you will pay separately for tea, coffee, bottled drinks, and other beverages.

Permits and Documents

The trek requires the applicable Annapurna Conservation Area permit and TIMS arrangement, which are included in our package as specified in the confirmed booking.

Before you begin your trek, you must also have a valid passport and the Nepal entry visa arrangements.

Personal travel insurance is not included. We suggest you take insurance that covers trekking to the highest altitude in your itinerary and includes proper emergency medical and evacuation cover.

Our team can provide information about the documents and arrangements required for your departure.

Altitude and Safety

Altitude becomes increasingly important as the route moves beyond Chhomrong. The itinerary reaches Machhapuchhre Base Camp at 3,700 meters, then continues to Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters.

Walking slowly and maintaining a steady pace becomes more important at higher elevations. Tell our guide immediately if you experience symptoms such as unusual headache, dizziness, nausea, or difficulty breathing.

Our guide accompanies the group throughout the trekking route and helps coordinate the daily walking schedule.

The package also includes a first aid kit carried by our team, and lists travel and rescue arrangements among the included services.

Personal travel insurance remains your responsibility. Make sure your policy covers the altitude and activities included in your trip.

Internet, Mobile Network and Charging

Mobile network and internet access can vary along the route. Lower villages generally have better access than the higher sections around the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Many teahouses offer charging facilities, although electricity availability can vary. It’s a good idea to carry a power bank, especially if you have internet access and want to take photos, use maps, or communicate on your phone.

Store electronic devices in a dry area. You should not rely entirely on mobile internet throughout the trek. Connectivity may be impacted by mountain conditions and local infrastructure.
